Growing up I always loved Nike for the moments that it created in sports. Numerous athletes have created moments that are forever etched in not only my life, but also in the lives of people across the world. Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Paul Rodriguez, Mia Hamm, Venus and Serena Williams, and many more Nike athletes have effectively dominated their field of play and have made a huge cultural impact on the kids of their generation.
In today’s society, kids are realizing their own potential through creative outlets. Our connection to brands, music, and culture areviewed through the lens of creativity. Virgil Abloh has realized this and has cultivated a meeting ground for all like minded creative people to gather and share ideas. NIKE INC c/o Virgil Abloh “OFF CAMPUS” showcased not only his “TEN ICONS RECONSTRUCTED” but also showcased the thought process of the leaders and culture shifters of past, present and future. For example, bringing people like Bloody Osiris, Jonathan Mannion, and Tremaine Emory on stage together to speak on the importance of the Air Force 1 through 3 unique perspectives gives the audience an idea of what it truly means to be unique.
This experience for me was very eye opening and motivating. Being among the most creative people in the world and getting a chance to speak and exchange ideas was very uplifting. Blessings to Virgil for cultivating this amazing experience in collaboration with Nike.
